Goals

  1. Promote collaboration between STEM researchers with education experts to collaboratively integrate educational theory and methods with disciplinary expertise.
  2. Build innovations in broader impacts through training, development of faculty and graduate students to promote reciprocal beneficial partnerships between academic research and education organizations.
  3. Create new models for facilitating collaborations between STEM education and the workforce needs.
  4. Work with industry leaders and other stakeholders to create opportunities for educators and youth to strengthen STEM skills that will carry them into a STEM future. 
  5. Work collaboratively with UA faculty, school system leaders, and educators to create hubs of quality STEM teaching/learning and research opportunities where benefits are reciprocal.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Interdisciplinary STEM Education Research (ISER) is to harness the resources of researchers, educators, industry partners, philanthropists, and policy makers to promote quality STEM education, professional development, research, and policy, and to be a catalyst in the establishment a strong STEM workforce pipeline from K12 to STEM industry.
